Aces duo eclipses 50 RBI mark in 11-3 loss to Sacramento
On a beautiful Memorial Day at the ballpark, the Reno Aces were topped by the Sacramento Rivercats, 11-3. Despite the loss, Reno (32-20) is riding a lot of momentum with 32 wins to start the season, which is tied for the most wins in the Pacific Coast League.
News 4 had a chance to catch up with Aces Interim Manager & Hitting Coach Greg Gross after the game, and he attributed the team's early season success to his offense, which has been the best in Triple-A (batting .302 as a team).
Oswaldo Arcia and Christian Walker hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning for Reno's only offense on the day. Walker leads all of professional baseball with 53 RBI, and Arcia is right on his heels at 51. They are the only players in either major or minor league baseball that have eclipsed the 50 RBI mark.
Walker also paces Triple-A in home runs with 16. He trails only Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees who has 17 to start the year.
