South Lake Tahoe native Jamie Anderson wins gold in Olympic slopestyle competition
Nothing was stopping South Lake Tahoe native Jamie Anderson from winning back-to-back gold in the Olympic slopestyle competition.
The qualifying rounds were cancelled due to high winds and the finals were delayed by an hour also due to those high winds. Furthermore, because of those high winds, the final round had two runs instead of the standard three. Once the competition began, many competitors found it tough to lay down a clean run, once again, due to those high winds.
Jamie had no problems though, putting down the winning 83 point run on her first run. Second place went to Canada's Laurie Blouin who scored 76.33.
Anderson became the first female snowboarder to win two Olympic medals.
Anderson will compete later this month in the big air competition.
