SDSU's Penny runs all over Nevada in Wolf Pack loss
SAN DIEGO, Cal. —
Nevada had no answer to San Diego State running back Rashad Penny on Saturday night.
The senior amassed 423 yards and four touchdowns between offense and special teams en route to a 42-23 defeat of the Wolf Pack.
Nevada hung with the Aztecs until the second half, which they entered trailing 21-17. San Diego State would go on a 28-6 run, beginning with 38 seconds in the second quarter, to seal the game.
There were some bright spots for the Pack, most notably the play of Nevada sophomore wide receiver Brendan O'Leary-Orange. The Canadian scored all three of Nevada's touchdowns and had 214 yards on 11 catches. Wyatt Demps also continued to shine with 110 yards, including an 82 yard catch which was a career-high for both him and quarterback Ty Gangi. It was also the longest pass play for Nevada since 2011. Gangi also recorded a new career-high for completions with 33. The junior went 33-of-54 for 414 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception overall.
Nevada now ends their season at home against UNLV on Saturday, November 26th at noon. The game will be broadcast on AT&T Sportsnet.
