Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District welcomes new firefighters

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District honors eight new firefighters at the Badge Pinning Ceremony at Washoe County Administrative Complex on June 19.

“We are really proud to recognize and welcome two women, and six men to the Truckee Meadows Fire Team,” said TMFPD Fire Chief Charles Moore. “These additional fire and rescue professionals have dedicated themselves to our serving our community and will help respond to our growing emergency call volumes throughout the Truckee Meadows.”

The firefighters recently completed 12 weeks of training at the Carson City Regional Fire Academy.

The new firefighters are as follows:

  • Brandon Akers, Firefighter Paramedic
  • *James Brumfield, Firefighter
  • *Kimberly Jarding, Firefighter
  • *Sarah Nemeth, Firefighter
  • *Ryen Scannell, Firefighter
  • *Roger Sohler, Firefighter
  • Aaron Westermen-Reynolds, Firefighter Paramedic
  • John Williams, Firefighter Paramedic

*Will soon have paramedic status.
