Section of eastbound Prater Way to close in Sparks for repaving
A section of eastbound Prater Way in Sparks will temporarily close for construction work as part of the 4th Street/Prater Way Bus RAPID Transit Project beginning on Monday, April 23, according to the Regional Transportation Commission.
- Monday, April 23, through the week of May 7: Eastbound Prater Way from Rock Boulevard to Galletti Way will close for paving and center median work. Detour signs will direct drivers to use Glendale Avenue as an alternate eastbound route during construction. Westbound traffic can continue to use Prater Way.
The RTC also plans to temporarily close the I-80 westbound on-ramp at Prater Way for paving beginning on Tuesday, May 1.
- Tuesday, May 1 through Saturday, May 5: I-80 westbound on-ramp at Prater Way will close for concrete work. Drivers are asked to use the Rock Boulevard on-ramp as a detour.
Construction crews will maintain access to residences and businesses. Pavement-striping operations will follow.
The RTC urges drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to be safe and to use extra caution in construction work zones.
