Man shot with Taser after firing shots inside business building near Reno airport
A man was tased early Wednesday morning after firing shots inside a Reno business building and charging at police.
According to Lt. Sean Garlock with the Reno Police Department, authorities received calls at 2:45 a.m. from a man who wanted cops to shoot him at a business at 1755 East Plumb Lane near the Reno airport.
While police were on the phone with the man, he fired several rounds from a shotgun inside the building.
After speaking with the man for over two hours, officers eventually convinced him to surrender. When the man exited the building, he was being combative and charged at police before being shot with a Taser.
Several area roadways were shut down near the airport as a precaution but have since reopened.
The man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and will be booked into the Washoe County Jail on the following charges once discharged from the hospital: obstructing and resisting with a firearm, four counts of discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.
