Reno Police: suspect that 'opened fire' on group of people on Mill St arrested

Officers from the Reno Police Department were dispatched to the area of Telegraph & Mill St. to a shooting on the evening of Tuesday, September 11.

The incident was reported around 10:20 p.m. after a few shots were fired and the suspect drove away in an unknown car.

Upon arrival, RPD found a man who suffering from a gunshot. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

20-year-old Jesus "Shady" Bautista was arrested on Friday, September 14 after meeting with Gang Unit Officers. He turned himself in.

Bautista has been charged with battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and coercion.

Officers obtained video surveillance of the suspect and the Regional Gang Unit identified him as a known gang member. The cause of the shooting is still unknown.
