Reno man dies after being ejected from truck in crash on Pyramid Highway
A Reno man has died days after being ejected from his truck in a crash on Pyramid Highway, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Trooper Matt McLaughlin says on Saturday, February 24 shortly before 7 a.m. troopers responded to a serious injury crash on State Route 445 near mile marker 29 in Washoe County.
Preliminary investigations shows that a 2006 white Ford F-250 pickup was travelling northbound on SR-445 when the driver failed to navigate the sweeping left curve in the roadway and drove onto the outside shoulder, striking a metal mile marker post.
The truck reentered the roadway and then overturned.
The driver, later identified as Kevin Wayne Crosby, was ejected as the truck overturned. The Ford landed on its wheels and continued travelling in the northeasternly direction, according to McLaughlin.
Crosby was flown to Renown via CareFlight with life-threatening injuries.
The 49-year-old succumbed to his injuries on March 6 at a local hospital.
