Police: Speed suspected after crash kills motorcyclist in Sparks
A motorcyclist is dead after a late night crash in Sparks on Saturday, according to Sparks Police.
Sgt. John Vasquez says officers responded to the intersection of Greg Street and Marietta Way on reports on a serious injury crash involving a motorcyclist.
When police arrived on scene, they found the victim lying in the roadway.
Sparks Fire personnel and REMSA paramedics responded and tried to resuscitate the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital later that night, according to Vasquez.
The Sparks Police Major Accident Investigation Team responded and took over the investigation. Preliminary investigations reveal that speed was a factor in the fatal crash.
