Man's body found near Riverwalk identified as 52-year-old Reno resident

    UPDATE: A man's body found near the Riverwalk between Sierra and Virginia streets in downtown Reno on Monday, Nov. 5 has been identified as 52-year-old Duyet P. Tran of Reno, according to the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office.

    Tran died of multiple stab wounds and Reno Police are investigating his death as a homicide.

    It happened about 5:15 a.m., when officers responded to Sierra St. and the Riverwalk on a report of a man down.

    Upon arrival, the officers located a man on the ground who was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Detectives with the Robbery/ Homicide Unit responded and determined the victim died as a result of a homicide.

    The examiner's office was unable to locate any next of kin for Tran, and anyone who might know him is asked to call the examiner's office at 785-6114.
