NDOT to install traffic signal and improve US-395 intersections in Carson Valley

Lane closures to install signal and improve I-395 intersections in Carson Valley

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports that construction will occur from southbound US-395 and Airport Road in the Carson Valley.

The project is to install a traffic signal and improve other highway intersections and will go on from June 24 to June 28.

Times for road closures are as follows:

Overnight hours of June 24 through June 28 will be between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Daytime hours of June 25 will be between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Road construction hours are subject to change and vehicle speed limits are set to be reduced to 55 mph through the work area.

A two-mile detour will be available to drivers by taking Johnson Lane and Heybourne Road.

Work in the construction will also include wider turn lanes from Airport Road, Stephanie Way, and Johnson Lane, as well as a final layer of paving to the recently renovated stretch of pavement.

This work is part of a large $1.8 million periodic construction project by A&K Earthmovers.

Included in the project are roadway striping, lighting and concrete islands will also be slightly modified to accommodate the new traffic signal and enhance traffic safety.
