Gov. Sandoval orders flags to half-staff on Friday to honor Air Force pilot killed
Governor Brian Sandoval has order all flags to half-staff from sunrise to sundown on Friday, April 6 to remember the Air Force pilot killed in a plane crash in southern Nevada.
The crash took place on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. when a U.S. Air Force Thunderbird Pilot crashed his F-16 Fighting Falcon during a routine aerial demonstration training flight over the Nevada Test and Training Range.
The pilot was later identified as Major Stephen Del Bagno, according to a statement from the U.S. Air Force Base.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the mishap that led to the crash, though no details were provided in Thursday's update.
Major Del Bagno is originally from Valencia, California, and he logged 1,400 hours as an Air Force pilot, according to his biography on the Thurderbirds' website.
