Aces, 1868 FC to celebrate Reno tree lighting with free ice rink

The City of Reno along with Aces, 1868 FC hosted a tree lighting ceremony and ice rink event on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

People who attended enjoyed coffee and hot cocoa with live music during the lighting ceremony.

After, attendees walked to Greater Nevada Field led by Reno Aces mascot Archie and Reno 1868 FC mascot Truckee for a free community skate and live DJ performance.

A special check presentation by Grand Sierra Resort to Professional Sports Catering, the Greater Nevada Field catering and concessions company for winning the Annual Chili Cookoff the check was also donated to St. Jude’s.

“Congratulations to Aces Professional Sports Catering for winning the Chef Challenge competition at this year’s GSR Beer and Chili Festival,” said Christopher Abraham, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Grand Sierra Resort. “On behalf of Ace Professional Sports Catering, we are excited to donate $1,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We are very proud of our partnership with the Aces and Reno 1868 FC.”
