California woman dies after drowning at Indian Falls
A 38-year-old California woman died on Sunday after drowning at Indian Falls, according to the Plumas County Sheriff's Office.
According to Sheriff Gregory Hagwood, police responded to multiple reports of a possible drowning at Indian Falls shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1.
It was reported that the woman was trapped under rocks near the falls and she was unable to be located, according to Hagwood.
Several bystanders searched the falls and were able to pull the victim out from under the rocks.
The victim, later identified as April Lorenzo of Quincy, California, was submerged for approximately 10 minutes before being rescued.
Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The 38-year-old was pronounced dead on scene.
