SPARKS, Nev. — The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has approved that Blockchains Communications LLC moves forward with the construction of a proposed 102-mile fiber optic ring.
Blockchains Communications LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blockchains, LLC will build the ring which will span Innovation Park, Reno and Carson City.
The company's application is to become a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC).
The multi-million-dollar project is a first step to laying the foundation for all Blockchains, LLC’s digital transactions. Blockchains will have the ability to provide high speed internet connectivity to homeowners, schools and businesses in Storey County.
“Blockchains’ plans for Innovation Park require top speed, net neutrality and a commitment to privacy,” says President David Berns. “We are pleased that we were approved for this first step.”
Services at the 1G, 10G and possibly 40G level will be offered by Blockchains Communications upon the completion of the fiber ring construction.
