Trees in the region are pollinating much earlier than usual, which means allergy season has quickly arrived.

Dr. Boris Lokshin with Allergy and Asthma Associates said he measured about 2,018 parts per cubic meter when measuring the pollen in the air Thursday.

Lokshin says residents should look for symptoms associated with hay fever or seasonal asthma.

Those who experience the symptoms can try antihistamines or nasal steroids. If the symptoms become severe, Lokshin recommends seeing a doctor.
