Arrest made in south Reno hit and run investigation

RENO, Nev. -- After several weeks, the Reno Police Department has made an arrest in the hit and run in south Reno that left 25-year-old Gabriel Kennedy critically injured with one leg amputated on May 8.

40-year-old Myree Townsend has now been booked at Washoe County Jail on charges of Hit and Run causing Substantial Bodily Injury, which is a felony crime.

Townsend, who turned herself in in late May, had not been arrested until Tuesday, because the investigation was still ongoing. Reno Police said she has been cooperative with their investigation.

In a press release, the Reno Police Department thanked the community for all of their efforts in trying to locate the suspect and vehicle after the incident.
