Northern hospitality for March Madness Reno casinos grow in popularity each year for the NCAA tournament thanks to northern hospitality. Ronos Eldorado Hotel and Casino expects two thousand sports book visitors for this 2014 tournament, which is a forth more than last years totals. Director of Player Development Chase Stigall says casino floor congestion grows twenty five percent each year. We have the same guys keep coming back every year and their group gets bigger and bigger and bigger, says Stigall. Five years ago, the Eldorado decided to market itself to the March madness demographic after customers inquired about what events the resort was hosting for the tournament. We take care of them every year, says Stigall. We get to know them, they are friends, we wait for their phone calls. This is the third year Brett Ogin and Johnie Uzzell have traveled from Seattle, Washington to Reno to watch the games. Youre not just another face in the crowd, they know who you are here, says Uzzell. The once Vegas regulars decided to migrate north one spring when sin city became too impersonal and packed for the group. We started looking into Reno, says Ogin. I had been here before for some other things and we just decided lets give it a try and if it doesnt work out, the next year we can always go back to Vegas. They found hospitality through friendly service, table reservations and overall care throughout the weekend. When you go down (to Las Vegas) you have to find a spot, its hard to get so we just kind of said screw it and come back here and Eldorado takes care of us, says Uzzell. Another aspect for tourist; Reno is just less expensive overall. Were going to be giving southern Nevada here a fight pretty soon, says Stigall.
