Reno 1868 FC rallies from 0-3 deficit to tie Sacramento Republic FC in final friendly
Reno, Nev. —
After trailing 0-3 to the Sacramento Republic FC, the Reno 1868 FC score 3 unanswered to tie in final friendly of the season.
In the first half, already trailing 0-3 in the first 25 minutes, Forward Mackenzie Pridham netted Reno's first goal off a loose ball in the box to bring the game to 3-1 at halftime.
“We didn’t start out very well and we were down in the first 25 minutes. The guys responded with a goal in the first half and I believe we came out the better team in the second half,” said 1868 head coach Ian Russell.
Reno would dominate possession in the second half. Reno Forward Dane Kelly scored in the 66th minute off a deflection by the Sac Republic’s keeper to bring the game to 3-2. Pridham would find the net one final time in the 87th minute to tie.
“It’s really tough to go down 3-0 in a match, but the whole team showed a lot of character and came back,” said Pridham.
