Forward Caleb Martin had 26 points and seven rebounds off the bench in his Wolf Pack debut, and the Nevada men's basketball team held off Idaho to win its season opener 88-64 on Friday.

Nevada celebrated the previous season's achievements by unveiling three banners - the Mountain West Conference championship, Mountain West tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance - before kicking off the 2017-18 campaign.

The Vandals were able to keep pace to start the game, even holding a 4-point lead at two separate points. But the Wolf Pack went on a 17-5 run to close out the first half, taking a 43-30 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Nevada never relinquished their advantage in the second half. The Vandals' Brayon Blake hit a 3-pointer and cut the lead to just 63-57 with 8:32 left, but that was as close as Idaho would come. The Wolf Pack went on a 25-7 run to close out the contest and seal the victory.

Nevada shot 50 percent from the field for the final 20 minutes of play, compared to just 38.2 percent for Idaho.

Martin, a transfer from North Carolina State, shot 8-for-14 from the field, hitting four of his seven 3-point attempts. He was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line, as the Nevada bench outscored Idaho's 37-9.

Cody Martin had 15 points and seven assists for the Wolf Pack, while Jordan Caroline added 13 points and Lindsey Drew had 12.

Brayon Blake led Idaho with 17 points.
