Nevada WBB defeats UC Irvine to advance in WBI
RENO, Nev. —
The Nevada women's basketball team went on a 19-9 run in the final eight minutes of their game against UC Irvine to secure 70-60 win over the Anteaters on Thursday night. The win was Nevada's second ever in postseason tournament play.
All but 15 of Nevada's points came from Teige Zeller, Terae Briggs, T Moe, and Jade Redmon.
T Moe lead all scorers with 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting. She also went 7-of-8 from the line. During the game, T Moe moved up the all-time scoring list at Nevada. She now stands 10th all-time in scoring. Zeller was right behind Moe with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Zeller had a double-double, grabbing 14 rebounds. Briggs and Redmon each added ten points a piece.
Nevada shot 45% from the field compared the UC Irvine's 32%. The Anteaters also went 3-of-19 from the three point line. Nevada outrebounded UC Irvine 45-32. Nevada did play a bit sloppy on offense, having 27 turnovers.
Nevada now has 18 wins on the year. With the win, Amanda Levens tied Jane Albright as the winningest first-year coach in program history.
The Pack will now travel to Fresno State on Monday to play the Bulldogs at 7 PM. Nevada and Fresno State split their contests in the regular season.
