Nevada men's basketball routs Utah State 83-57
RENO, Nev. —
The Nevada men's basketball team certainly looked refreshed in their nearly 30 point victory over Utah State on Saturday.
Four pack players scored in double figures as the Pack moved to 5-0 in Mountain West play for the first time since the program moved to the conference in 2012.
Kendall Stephens led all scorers with 19 points, including five three pointers. Jordan Caroline and Caleb Martin also pitched in 16 and 15 points, respectively. Lindsey Drew rounded out the four Pack scorers in double digits, with 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting performance.
One thing of concern in the game was Cody Martin's Achilles. Martin was held of the second half after injuring it sometime during the first half. Head Coach Eric Musselman said in the post-game presser that it was a concern to him and that Cody could miss the next two games because of the injury. Nevada's next two games are against San Jose State and Boise State. The Broncos are currently Nevada's greatest challenger in conference at 5-1 in Mountain West play.
Nevada is now 16-3 on the season and 5-0 in Mountain West play. The team has won the last 14 home games and is 38-4 at home under Musselman.
The Pack play San Jose State on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. News 4 will travel with the team to the Bay Area and will provide complete coverage, including highlights and post-game reaction after the contest. The game will also be televised on CBS Sports Network.
