LOS ANGELES (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - A raging brush fire shut down California's Interstate 405 in Los Angeles early Wednesday, according to local media.

KNBC reports fire crews responded to a 6-acre brush fire near the J. Paul Getty Museum just before 5 a.m. Helped by 25-mph Santa Ana winds, the fire had grown to about 50 acres by 6 a.m.

The northbound lanes of I-405 were closed, KNBC said.

No injuries were immediately reported.

According to The Los Angeles Times, more than 125 firefighters were on scene and LA police ordered residents in designated areas to evacuate.

The brush fire comes as a number of destructive wildfires are plaguing Southern California.
