Vacation home rental meeting in South Lake Tahoe postponed due to overcrowding
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
A county meeting in South Lake Tahoe on vacation home rental policy had to be postponed because the meeting venue became overcrowded.
South Lake Tahoe Fire and Rescue said in statements to social media that the meeting, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1, at South Lake Tahoe City Hall was canceled due to public safety.
The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors was scheduled to have a special meeting to discuss changes to the county code regarding vacation home rentals in the Lake Tahoe basin.
Changes would be made to violations, pre-permit inspections, caps on occupancy and enforcement under the proposal that was supposed to be heard Thursday.
There was no immediate announcement on when a new meeting would take place.
