Suspect in Carson City drug deal robbery & murder pleads guilty; faces life in prison

Reed Skenandore

A main suspect involved in the multiple co-defendant Carson City murder case that left an 18-year-old Carson City man dead on Jan. 11, 2016 entered a guilty plea on Tuesday afternoon.

Reed Haber Skenandore III pled guilty to first degree murder in the Carson City District Court Department 2 on Mar. 14, 2017.

Skenandore faces up to life in prison with the eligibility for parole after 20 years.

Aside from the guilty murder plea, Skenandore also pled guilty to conspiracy to commit a robbery which carries a 1-6 year penalty. Whether or not the count will run consecutively or concurrently to the murder charge is unknown.

The shooting took place at a park in Carson City after a deal involving three ounces of marijuana turned out to be a planned robbery among Skenandore and several other co-defendants.

Keenan Blackmore pleaded guilty to accessory to murder and faces up to five years in prison.

Jesus-Garcia Manriquez pleaded guilty to second degree murder.

Sentencing is scheduled for May, 9, 2017. Four defendants remain set for trail related to this case.
