Suspect arrested for armed robbery at Sparks convenience store
SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
One person is in custody on suspicion of armed robbery of a Sparks convenience store Friday, according to police.
The robbery was reported Friday, Jan. 12, at the City Mart on 91 E. Prater Way at about 2:30 p.m., police said in a statement.
A clerk and another person called police and gave a description of the robber, and officers in the area began looking for a suspect.
A short time later, officers found a person who matched the description, wearing a distinctive shirt described by witnesses, in the area of Richards Way. Officers found a gun hidden on him, and he was taken into custody.
The clerk and video surveillance confirmed a positive identification, according to police.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Christopher Sakadales, was arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, ex-felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators are looking for the witness who called 911 to provide a description. Anyone with information is asked to call 353-2231.
