South Lake Tahoe Middle School student arrested after making gun threats
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
A South Lake Tahoe Middle School student was arrested on Friday after threatening to bring a gun to school, according to the South Lake Police Department.
According to Lt. Shannon Laney, officers were contacted by South Lake Tahoe Middle School in regards to a male juvenile who made threats to bring a gun to school during a during school dance scheduled for Friday night.
Officers made contact with the juvenile at his residence. Police searched the home and it is believed that he did not have access to any firearms.
Due to the nature of the threat and the number of students who were placed in fear, the student was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Juvenile Treatment Center on a felony criminal threat charge.
The South Lake Tahoe Police Department would like to take this time to remind that public that such threats will not be tolerated and law enforcement will take action.
