$200 million budget approved for 3 new Washoe County schools
RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
The Washoe County School District's Board of Trustees approved a $200 million budget recommendation for building three new schools.
The trustees met Tuesday to discuss the recommendation from the Capital Funding Protection Committee, which includes an elementary school in South Meadows, a middle School in Sun Valley and a middle school in Spanish Springs.
The committee approved the budget before sending its recommendation to the Board of Trustees, which voted unanimously in favor.
School officials say the funding will come from tax revenue created by Washoe County Question 1.
