Los Angeles bound flight makes emergency landing in Reno

[FILE] A Delta Airlines jet sits on the tarmac at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

A Delta flight travelling from Boise to Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Reno on Monday morning, according to a spokeswoman from the airport.

Trish Tucker from the Reno Tahoe International Airport confirmed that the plane was diverted in the early morning hours of Sept. 11.

Tucker says it was unknown why the diversion was made, but the plane landed safely and no one was injured.

A spokesperson for SkyWest, which was operating the flight as Delta Connection, said in an email the diversion of Flight 4564 was due to a "mechanical indication."

Passengers deplaned at the gate, and mechanics inspected the plane before they returned to continue the flight to Los Angeles, the email reads.
