Firefighters investigate after lightning strikes outside Sparks warehouse
SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Firefighters are investigating a lightning strike reported outside a Sparks warehouse Tuesday night.
A fire official on scene said lightning hit some pallet boxes outside a facility on Glendale Avenue.
Employees at the site were evacuated, and firefighters were assessing any potential damage.
In a statement released Tuesday night, Battalion Chief Derek Keller said the first arriving engine found a small fire burning in the insulation of the ceiling and through a vent onto the roof.
The crew quickly put out the fire and checked for further fire extension, though the fire was contained to that area.
Employees were allowed back into the building, and no injuries were reported.
