American Cancer Society fundraiser allowing kids to operate heavy construction equipment
RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Excavators, loaders, bulldozers and other heavy construction equipment are being turned over to the children this weekend at the annual "Big Dig" event benefiting the American Cancer Society and children with pediatric cancer.
Cashman Equipment in Sparks is donating the vehicles for the Saturday event.
Children and their parents are invited to 9208 Western Skies Dr. in Reno between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to drive the trucks under the supervision of professionals.
Tickets for one adult and one child cost $100 each, and lunch is provided.
