Opinion: James Comey is misusing his former FBI role to make money and get revenge

(ABC iva MGN Online)

EDITOR'S NOTE: Boris Epshteyn formerly served as a Senior Advisor to the Trump Campaign and served in the White House as Special Assistant to The President and Assistant Communications Director for Surrogate Operations.

WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Fired former FBI Director James Comey is on a full-scale offensive against President Trump, the same President Trump who fired Mr. Comey in the first place.

James Comey is saying that Donald Trump is not morally fit to be president.

Comey has also said that scandalous allegations against the president could, potentially, maybe, possibly be true. Of course, Comey is not offering any proof of those assertions, it seems like he is just guessing.

As a private citizen, Comey can do that and he is absolutely entitled to his opinion about the president’s fitness for the Oval Office.

The problem is that his book tour and publicity circus are happening because of his former position - FBI director, which James Comey is once again misusing.

Let’s not forget, Mr. Comey has very few friends left on either side of the aisle. He opened, closed, reopened and then closed again a criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails all in the last few months of the 2016 campaign.

Right after being fired, Comey leaked notes from his meetings with President Trump to the press. Those notes have been reported to contain classified information.

Here is the bottom line: it is up to all of us to make our own conclusions about James Comey’s statements. While doing so, it is important to remember that Mr. Comey is not an angel or a current law enforcement official. He is a man who was fired from his job for cause who is trying to sell books and maybe get some revenge in the process.
