RENO - In January an orphaned young Daschund named Hope was left out on the streets. Hope was struck by a car, injured, and left by the side of the road.

After being picked up by Washoe County Regional Animal Services, she was brought to Nevada Humane Society in need of urgent medical care. Hope is now recovering in a foster home and ready for adoption. Her prognosis is good and she is ready to be placed in a new home on Wednesday, March 19.

Hope’s treatment was only made possible by community donations of over $21,000 for her medical care. Part of that was thanks to several members of the Nevada Air Guard, led by Chuck Allen, who brought together a team of people for a ‘Tips for Hope’ fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse.
