Where to watch the Kentucky Derby in Reno-Sparks

Tthe 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday, May 6, and there's no shortage of places to watch the spectacle.

Here are a few places in Reno hosting special events for those looking to take in the racing at Churchill Downs.

Chapel Tavern: Starts at noon; derby attire highly encouraged

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa: $45 tickets for the ballroom viewing party; includes ticket to the Canelo vs. Chavez viewing party & two drink tickets

Boomtown: "Win, Place, Show for Dough" contest for Players Club members

Peppermill & Reno Chamber Orchestra: Live and silent auction, a wine raffle and a luncheon with traditional mint juleps

The Depot: All you can drink Mimosas and ale for $20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., $5 mint juleps, raffle items, brunch & lunch specials; reservations recommended

You can also watch the Kentucky Derby on News 4. The coverage starts at 11:30 a.m., with the race scheduled for 3:34 p.m. PST.
